Pilatus offers a unique excursion with the world’s steepest cogwheel railway, spectacular Dragon Ride cableway, and modern panorama gondolas. The highlight of the tour is the magnificent view from 2132m/6995ft above sea level. Travelers can enjoy Swiss culinary delights in various restaurants at the mountaintop with an impressive panoramic view. As clients arrive at the Pilatus summit, they will behold a 360o panoramic view of 73 Alpine peaks, 5 lakes, and the Midlands. They will also find a variety of restaurants, the panorama gallery, and a breathtaking panorama terrace.

Ticket includes round-trip travel from Alpnachstad or Kriens in Central Switzerland to the Pilatus Summit with the world’s steepest cogwheel railway. Entitles the holder to round trip travel to Mount Pilatus from Alpnachstad by cogwheel railway or from Kriens by panorama gondola and aerial cableway.

The cogwheel is the steepest of its kind in the world! It starts at the base of Mount Pilatus in Alpnachstad and runs over uniquely constructed tracks to the summit of the mountain.

This cogwheel train operates from early/mid-May to mid-November. (depending on snow conditions). The trip takes approximately 30-40 minutes from Alpnachstad one-way.

The panorama gondola and aerial cableway operate year-round (except for during maintenance work) and takes approximately 25-30 minutes in combination from Kriens one-way.

Maintenance work: Panorama gondola Kriens-Fräkmüntegg is closed from 19 October – 06 November 2020.

Children from 6 to 15 get a discount, children under 6 do not require a ticket but will share seats with a paying adult. Children under 16 travelling with their parents on a Swiss Family Card, will travel for free.

Discounts for passengers holding a Swiss or Eurail Pass.

The voucher must be exchanged within 6 months of date of issue at either Alpnachstad station or Kriens gondola station.

If a passholder fare is purchased, both the coupon and pass must be presented at the station.

Once travel on the voucher is initiated, no refund will be due.
