Open tickets are valid for the period shown on the ticket. Validity is normally seven days, although some regions will have a one day or four day validity.
Valid for a specific route as per the printed ticket. Valid on all trains for which the reservation is not mandatory (TER and Teoz trains). The journey can be taken on any date within the period of validity. For Regional trains (TER), no coach or seat numbers are printed on the ticket. Passengers can sit wherever in the same class of travel printed on the ticket. Additional seat reservations can be booked separately. Seat reservations are not included in an open ticket price.
- Tickets are non-exchangeable, however a refund may be done up to 60 days after first day of the validity.
- The tickets must be endorsed and stamped “unused” by a railway official in order to apply for a refund.
Children under four years travel free if not occupying a seat. Reduced rates apply for children 4-11 years, Youth and Senior.
