A Rail Pass must be activated on the first day of travel, within six months from the date of issue, at a ticket office at a railway station in Europe. The ticketing officer will verify the passport details against the pass, then complete the compulsory fields and stamp the pass to validate it.
On Flexible Pass options, the traveller must complete the date of travel on each travel day on their rail pass prior to boarding the first train. This is a mandatory field on the pass. Should it not be completed prior to boarding, the conductor may fine the traveller.
For Eurail Passes, the traveller must complete the compulsory Travel Report found in the ticket cover. All instructions for the Eurail Passes will be given to the travellers at the time of their receiving their paper ticket from World Travel.
